Hawthorn Weißdorn Tinktur Ingredients: Bottle 25 ml Hawthorn fruit 100 g and 70% ethyl alcohol per 1 liter.

Pharmacological Action: Herbal remedy. Hawthorn fruits contain flavonoids (quercetin, hyperin, hyperoside, vitexin), organic acids (citric, oleanic, ursolic, crategusic, coffee, chlorogenic), carotenoids, tannins, fatty oils, pectins, triterpene and flavone glycosides, berytonic glycosides , sugars, vitamins.

The active ingredients of hawthorn reduce the excitability of the central nervous system and heart muscle, help to increase the contractility of the latter, improve the coronary and cerebral circulation, and eliminate dizziness. Hawthorn helps to normalize the heart rate, which is supposedly due to the mechanism of action characteristic of class III antiarrhythmics.

Due to the presence of triterpene compounds and flavonoids, it has an antispasmodic effect, selectively expanding the vessels of the heart and brain; hypotensive effect; contributes to the normalization of venous pressure, improves the function of the vascular walls.

Method of Application: Ready-made hawthorn tincture is prescribed for adults, 20-30 drops, up to 4 times a day. The drug is taken before meals. Treatment is prescribed for 25-30 days. Children from 12 years old - 10 drops, which are diluted in 0.25 glasses of water, are taken 3 times a day in the same course. It must be remembered that the alcohol content in a single dose for adults is 0.45 g, and for children - 0.23 g. During treatment, care must be taken when driving a vehicle.

Side Effects: Possibly: allergic reactions, lowering blood pressure, bradycardia (with prolonged use), nausea, vomiting, intestinal colic (when taken on an empty stomach), drowsiness.
